Jacquez Johnson has an important message to share. The student from Frederick Douglass High in Memphis, Tennessee, created a PSA for autism awareness month to promote education, understanding and unity. Jacquez’s broadcasting instructor, Marshall Dodson, shared the PSA with National Autism Association, and is proud that Jacquez wrote, recorded and edited the piece himself.
In the PSA, Jacquez talks about having autism and notes, “You may see people like me different, but don’t panic. I’m not disease, I’m just autistic.”
Jacquez ends his powerful message calling on all of us to join together as one, “Because we can win.”
Well done, Jacquez. As long as there are people like you in the world, we’ve already won.
