NAA – Pennsylvania
The NAA-PA team is a long-established group of advocates serving the greater Philadelphia and surrounding areas. For nearly a decade, this spectacular team has been organizing monthly meetings, community events and hosting an exceptional annual conference which will now be merged with NAA’s National Autism Conference under the leadership of Honey Rinicella.
Patrick L. Elliott D.O., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Elliott is a board certified general and trauma surgeon. His passion and belief that Autism Spectrum Disorder in an “acquired brain injury” with toxic and metabolic components associated with a genetic predisposition is based on his extensive personal experience as both a physician and parent of children with ASD. After his twin boys were both diagnosed with Autism at age 3 in 2004, he worked tirelessly to help his children overcome the challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The use of a combined behavioral and biomedical approach to treatment has yielded extraordinary results with both his children, along with countless others he has helped and learned from along the way.
As a MAPS medical academy of special needs physician, Dr. Elliott continues to broaden his own experiences and expertise in treating children and adults with Autism spectrum disorder, PANDS, PANS, and other conditions associated with developmental delay. As such, our practice remains of the “cutting edge” of new and innovative approaches as we help children with special needs maximize their potential.
Michael Montico MD
Dr. Montico is a Medical Academy of Pediatric Specialty (MAPS) physician. After earning his M.D. degree from Wayne State University in 1998, Dr. Montico completed his residency in family medicine at Providence Hospital in 2001, and completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Providence Hospital in 2002. He received his training in biomedicine and functional medicine through “DAN” conferences: 2007-2012 and MAPS 2013-present. Dr. Montico’s son, Owen, has Autism and has experienced dramatic improvements following the biomedical approach since 2009. Seeing the profound difference this approach had for his own son is what truly motivates Dr. Montico. His passion is to partner with parents so they can use the same biomedical approach with their own children. He uses a functional medicine approach in evaluating all of his patients. Dr. Montico has additional training in caring for individuals with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
